Replanting the Region: 2026

At Erosion & Construction Solutions (ECS), our mission has always been simple: Clean Water. Clean World. While much of our daily work involves SWPPP management and sediment control on active jobsites, we believe our responsibility to the environment extends beyond the perimeter of a construction fence. That is why every year, we celebrate Earth Day through our flagship community initiative: Replanting the Region.

Based in Merrillville, we take pride in the Northwest Indiana landscape. However, as development continues to grow, maintaining our native canopy is more important than ever. Native trees are nature’s best erosion control—they stabilize soil, manage stormwater runoff, and protect the local waterways we all rely on.

A Hands-On Investment in Our Future

The "Replanting the Region" program is more than just a donation; it’s a partnership. Each year, the ECS team joins forces with local municipalities to provide everything needed for a successful planting: native seedlings, high-quality soil, and the professional labor to ensure those trees get a healthy start.

One of our favorite parts of this tradition is involving local schools. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing students get their hands dirty while learning about conservation and stewardship. By giving the next generation a hands-on role in protecting their environment, we’re planting the seeds of a sustainable future alongside those saplings.

Fulfilling Your MCM 1 Requirements

For our municipal partners, this event offers a dual benefit. Not only does it beautify your jurisdiction and improve local ecology, but it also serves as a high-impact way to fulfill your Minimum Control Measure (MCM) 1: Public Education and Outreach requirements.

By documenting these planting events and the student involvement, you are providing tangible evidence of community engagement and environmental education—checking a crucial box for your regulatory compliance while doing something great for the community.

Spring 2026

For Spring 2026, ECS has committed to donating up to 2,000 native trees for planting across the region.

We are currently looking for municipal partners to join us. Do you have a park, a schoolyard, or a public easement in your jurisdiction that is in need of a "green" upgrade? We want to hear from you. We provide the trees, the soil, and the muscle—you provide the location and the vision.

Let’s work together to keep our region green and our water clean.
